I went on a long stream of really heavy books so this was exactly what I needed and at just the right time. Sports romance novels are by far my guiltiest of guilty pleasures. I don't expect the stars and the moon to be hung by the story. I expect to be entertained and to have a level of swoonworthiness from it and The Perfect Play did exactly that. I loved Mick and his relationship with Tara. There was a realness in the fantasy of it. I felt it was believable, which is sometimes a stretch in romance books, but I also felt the fun of it. Mick was anything but perfect and neither was Tara so they were kind of perfect together. The Perfect Play was a quick and entertaining read and I can't wait for more in the series.
