Andi's ABCs

I'm a shopping fanatic. On any given day you will hear about me buying clothes or bags or shoes or books.
Nobody But Us - Kristin Halbrook Honestly I'm not sure what to even say about this book. I had been looking forward to it for quite sometime so when I got an advanced copy in the mail I was pumped. Sadly I was left majorly disappointed when I finished. Honestly, I just really didn't like this book. What started out as a great idea, even knowing it could go no where good, ended kind of muddled and left me very puzzled and feeling like what the heck just happened.

Nobody But Us is about Will and Zoe, two teens that feel the town they live in and look for a better life. Will is a foster kid that has no where to go while Zoe is abused by her alcoholic father. When Zoe meets Will he decides he needs to protect her at whatever the cost. Unfortunately these two have the odds stacked against them. Not only is there a warrant out for Will's arrest, Zoe is also still a minor. As things get more complicated for these two they must decide if what they are doing is for the right reasons.

Man does it sadden me that I didn't like this one. The concept is so good it should have worked. Sadly it just didn't. Although they were mostly doing the right thing, they did everything so wrong and it just got worse and worse as the book progressed. Zoe became wishy washy and a whiner and Will became so unhinged there was no getting behind him. I just didn't get what their motives were for some of the stuff they did. And with the book being as short as it was it was even harder for all the stuff that went down to be resolved. By the end of the book I had no clue what I just read, what the point was, and why it went in the direction that it did. I was completely baffled and that is not a feeling you want to be left with when you finish a book.

Definitely not one I would recommend, but don't take my word for it. If you were planning to read it then do it because you may like it better then I did.
